Holiday Inn Express Dumfries by IHG

Hotel was clean, reasonably priced and in a quiet area, with IHOP within walking distance across the street (you'll appreciate this). The service was excellent and everyone was friendly. The beds were comfortable, the shower was hot. There were 3 of us in a double queen room and there were 3 towels, 3 washcloths.... nothing to spare and 2 of us have waist length hair. All the body products were Dove brand and smelled great. We checked in at around 11pm. Came back after midnight and the marijuana smell knocked you over. Their breakfast SUCKED. It was absolutely awful. "Mikey" did NOT like it. Everything was reheated at least once and I'd venture to guess more than that. The juice was watered down, the muffins and cinnamon rolls were super dry (heating them in our room didn't help), the sausage patties reminded me of chicken fried steak with a batter type look. And the bananas are plantains, nice try HIX. Thankfully IHOP is across the street where you'll find Eli who is a great server!!

We stayed 3/6/25 to 3/9/25. It was the best experience we ever had. Rooms were great, beds amazing and comfortable. Free breakfast was absolutely amazing. I will stay here again. It’s just a short drive to D.C. and great restaurants near here.

I had a fantastic experience staying at this top-rated hotel before my race in the area. The location is absolutely perfect for any traveler, especially those needing quick access to the highway, as it's conveniently located right off Interstate 95 (I-95). This made my morning commute to the race location incredibly easy and stress-free. The hotel staff provided truly fantastic service—everyone was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The rooms themselves were great, very clean, and provided a quiet retreat, which is essential for pre-race relaxation. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay near I-95 for an event, race, or just passing through, I would absolutely recommend this accommodation. It’s a prime example of a great traveler accommodation with easy highway access. I'll be booking here again for my next local race!

Pros: Rooms are clean, large, new carpet, smelled good. Air conditioning worked well. Hotel and exterior are in good condition, clean and well maintained, seems like a good neighborhood, free and plentiful parking. Near a good Mexican restaurant. Breakfast was the reliable Holiday Inn Express breakfast. Fantastic room rate. Front desk is very professional and helpful. The staff were all very nice. Cons: We did not receive room service (but we had our 'do not disturb' sign on the door until 10 a.m. ?). We arrived at breakfast at 8:45 but the few biscuits that were left were dried out and hard. Towels were a bit thin. ---- I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. I'll be coming back again and again. My allergies usual flare up when carpet/rugs are dusty and/or dirty, however, NOT here. My rooms have been very clean. The staff has been very friendly. I enjoy their free breakfast and the gym. There are restaurants within a short walk to the hotel (across the street). The location is also near other stores and restaurant. I've already made a reservation for my next visit. Thank you Holiday Inn Express in Dumfries, V.A. for your good customer service, clean hotel and amenities.

A fairy solid Holiday Inn Express with clean rooms and complimentary breakfast. Unfortunately, the breakfast was a bit cold as the warmers were just left open, which was a bit disappointing.

The rooms were in excellent condition and the location couldn't have been more convenient for our needs. Most of the employees were very friendly, but one of the morning front desk employees just always had a scowl and gave the impression that she really didn't like her job. We were also skipped by housekeeping one day which wasn't a big deal but was disappointing. Overall, it was a good experience and we'll be back.

This was our 2nd stay at this location. We came back because of its great surrounding grounds - serene & beautiful. Room was up to par - clean & functionable. Nice breakfast & surprisingly haggis was on the menu. Reception was cheerful & helpful. Will certainly stay again.
